Cellular · The flagship modality

Stem cell therapy that puts the cells where the tissue needs them.

At Apex, stem cell therapy isn't a single injection — it's a combined healing protocol. Screened mesenchymal stem cells and exosomes are placed under ultrasound guidance, amplified with PRP from your own blood, and supported by a red light therapy package that speeds recovery between visits — then tracked over a full year. It starts at $4,500 per joint, is physician-performed, and begins with an honest candidacy conversation. A non-surgical option, not a cure, it works best for early-to-moderate joint disease.

What it is

Mesenchymal stem cells are signaling cells. In a joint with osteoarthritis or a tendon that has stopped healing, they act on the local environment — dampening inflammation, recruiting the body's own repair machinery, and releasing exosomes that carry growth-factor messaging to nearby tissue.

Apex uses screened, allogeneic (donor-derived) MSCs, typically Wharton's-jelly-derived, together with MSC-derived exosomes. We deliberately do not offer bone-marrow (BMAC) or fat-derived (adipose) harvests — they add a surgical harvest step without a clear advantage for the indications we treat.

The single biggest determinant of a good result is placement. Every injection at Apex is delivered under ultrasound guidance so the material reaches the exact structure that needs it — not somewhere close to it.

How it works

Modulate inflammation

MSCs shift the local immune environment away from the chronic, low-grade inflammation that keeps a joint or tendon from healing.

Signal for repair

Through direct signaling and released exosomes, MSCs prompt surrounding cells to lay down healthier tissue and improve the joint environment.

Support the whole plan

Cellular therapy is often paired with PRP, red light, or a structured rehab plan so the tissue is prepared and the response is reinforced.

How your protocol works

Not a single shot. A combined protocol.

A stem cell injection on its own is only part of the picture. At Apex, cellular therapy is delivered as a system — amplified with PRP, supported by a red light therapy package, and measured over a full year. That combination is the difference between “get a shot and go” and actually rebuilding tissue.

01

Stem cells & exosomes

The repair signal

Screened mesenchymal stem cells and their exosomes, placed under ultrasound guidance to calm inflammation and direct tissue repair.

02

PRP

Amplify

Platelet-rich plasma from your own blood, layered in to amplify the regenerative signal with your own concentrated growth factors.

03

Red light therapy

Accelerate

A photobiomodulation package that supports cellular energy and speeds healing in the weeks between visits — recovery, on a schedule.

04

12-month tracking

Measure

We track your pain and function at 6 weeks, 3, 6, and 12 months, and adjust — because regeneration is a process, not an event.

Candidacy

Who this is — and isn't — for.

Likely a good candidate

  • Early-to-moderate osteoarthritis (grades I–III)
  • Partial-thickness tendon tears and chronic tendinopathy
  • Joint pain you're managing to avoid or delay surgery
  • Pain that hasn't resolved with rest, PT, or cortisone
  • Generally healthy patients seeking a non-surgical option

Likely not the right answer

  • Bone-on-bone Grade IV joints with structural collapse
  • Active infection or active cancer
  • Expectation of a permanent cure or overnight result
  • A problem better solved by surgery — we'll tell you if so
  • Unwillingness to complete follow-up and rehab

We turn patients away when the evidence says a therapy won't help them. If a joint is too far gone or a surgical answer is clearly better, we say so at the consultation — before you've spent anything.

?Questions patients ask

Straight answers.

Does stem cell therapy actually work for knees?

For the right candidate, yes — the evidence is meaningful for pain and function, though it is graded low-to-moderate certainty and it is not a cure. A meta-analysis of 35 studies and over 2,300 patients found significant improvements in pain, function, and cartilage quality. It works best for early-to-moderate osteoarthritis.

How much does stem cell therapy cost in Dallas–Fort Worth?

At Apex, stem cell therapy starts at $4,500 per joint and typically ranges $4,500–$7,500 depending on the joint and material — quoted as one inclusive fee covering the physician evaluation, image guidance, treatment, and twelve months of follow-up. We publish our ranges up front and confirm your exact fee after your evaluation. Financing and HSA/FSA are available.

What kind of stem cells do you use?

Screened, allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), typically Wharton's-jelly-derived, plus MSC-derived exosomes. We do not offer bone marrow (BMAC) or adipose (fat-derived) harvests.

Is it covered by insurance?

No. U.S. insurers classify orthopedic stem cell therapy as investigational, so it is out of pocket. We keep it accessible with transparent pricing, 0% financing, and HSA/FSA acceptance.

Is it safe? What are the side effects?

Serious adverse events are rare. The most common effects are temporary soreness or swelling at the injection site for a few days. Every treatment is physician-performed under sterile, image-guided technique.

How long until I notice results?

Regeneration takes time. Many patients notice change over four to twelve weeks as the tissue responds, with continued improvement over several months.
