Autologous · From your own blood

PRP therapy — your own platelets, precisely placed.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) concentrates the healing platelets from your own blood and delivers them, under ultrasound guidance, into an injured tendon, ligament, or early-arthritic joint. It's a physician-performed, first-line regenerative option — autologous and well-suited to tennis elbow, Achilles and patellar tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, and early osteoarthritis. From $1,500 per session, and included as part of every stem cell protocol.

What it is

Platelets do more than clot — they release the growth factors that kick off tissue healing. PRP draws a small sample of your blood, concentrates those platelets, and re-injects them exactly where healing has stalled.

Because it's made from your own blood, PRP has an excellent safety profile and no rejection risk. It's often the right first regenerative step for tendon and ligament problems, and for early joint disease before considering cellular therapy.

As with everything at Apex, concentration quality and image-guided placement drive the outcome — a blind injection into roughly the right area is not the same procedure.

How it works

Concentrate the platelets

Your blood is spun down to concentrate platelets and their growth factors well above baseline.

Deliver the growth factors

Injected under ultrasound guidance, the platelets release signals that recruit healing to the injured tissue.

Build or bridge

PRP is used as a standalone first-line therapy or to prepare and support a cellular treatment plan.

Candidacy

Who this is — and isn't — for.

Likely a good candidate

  • Tennis or golfer's elbow, Achilles or patellar tendinopathy
  • Plantar fasciitis that won't resolve
  • Early osteoarthritis before cellular therapy
  • Active people wanting an autologous option
  • Those seeking a lower-cost first regenerative step

Likely not the right answer

  • Advanced bone-on-bone arthritis needing more than PRP
  • Certain blood or platelet disorders
  • Anyone expecting one injection to fix a chronic tear
  • Active infection at the site

PRP is often the smart first move — but not always enough on its own. We'll tell you when PRP is the right step and when a cellular approach or surgery is the better answer.

?Questions patients ask

Straight answers.

What does PRP therapy cost?

At Apex, PRP starts at $1,500 per session and typically runs $1,500–$2,500, with a three-session series bundled around $4,000. This is physician-performed, ultrasound-guided PRP — not a spa-grade injection. It's also included as part of every stem cell protocol. Your exact fee is set at your consultation.

PRP vs stem cell therapy — which do I need?

PRP uses your own platelets and is often the right first-line option for tendon injuries and early arthritis. Stem cell therapy is a step up for more advanced joint disease. We'll recommend the least-invasive option likely to work.

Is PRP covered by insurance?

Almost never — PRP is considered elective/investigational for most orthopedic uses and is self-pay. We offer transparent pricing and financing.

How many PRP sessions will I need?

Many tendon and joint conditions respond best to a series of three, spaced over several weeks. Some need only one. We set the plan after examining the tissue.
