Regenerative medicine for Dallas patients

If you live in the Dallas market (Highland Park, Uptown, Lakewood, Preston Hollow, East Dallas, North Dallas, Lake Highlands, the Bishop Arts area, or further south and east), you have options for regenerative medicine. The Dallas-area market includes multiple clinics offering some version of stem cell therapy, PRP, and adjacent modalities.

Apex Regenerative Institute, located in Southlake, draws a meaningful share of its patient base from across the Dallas metroplex. This page explains why Dallas-area patients are willing to drive to us, what we offer, and how the decision compares to other options closer to central Dallas.

The drive from Dallas to Southlake

Apex is at 2111 Kirkwood Blvd, Suite 110b, Southlake, TX 76092. Driving times from various Dallas-area starting points (typical, non-rush hour):

  • Downtown Dallas: 30 to 40 minutes
  • Uptown: 30 to 35 minutes
  • Highland Park / University Park: 25 to 35 minutes
  • Preston Hollow: 25 to 30 minutes
  • North Dallas (Forest Lane area): 25 to 30 minutes
  • Lakewood / East Dallas: 35 to 45 minutes
  • Lake Highlands: 30 to 35 minutes
  • Bishop Arts / Oak Cliff: 40 to 50 minutes
  • Plano: 25 to 35 minutes
  • Frisco: 30 to 40 minutes
  • McKinney: 35 to 45 minutes
  • Richardson: 30 to 35 minutes
  • Garland: 35 to 45 minutes

The two most common routes are TX-114 west (from anywhere accessing I-35E or the Tollway northbound) or TX-121 / TX-114 west (from Frisco and Plano). Both are highway most of the way, with limited traffic outside rush hour windows.

Most Dallas-area patients describe the drive as easier than what they'd navigate to many central Dallas hospital campuses. Free parking immediately outside the building.

Why Dallas-area patients come to Apex

Patients in the Dallas market have multiple regenerative options. The ones who choose us are typically the patients who:

Have already compared multiple clinics. A meaningful number of our Dallas-area patients have consulted at one or two other regenerative practices first. The comparison usually surfaces specific things they wanted that they didn't find: a physician who would review imaging before quoting, a clear written protocol, transparent pricing, willingness to say no when no is the right answer.

Want a physician-led practice. Not a clinic where a mid-level provider does the procedure and the physician signs the chart. Dr. Abdullah personally performs every image-guided procedure at Apex.

Want allogeneic umbilical-derived MSCs. Several Dallas-area clinics still use BMAC or adipose-derived cells. We use screened young donor cells from FDA-registered processors. (Why this matters is in our allogeneic vs autologous guide.)

Want diagnostic discipline. The kind of clinical thinking that comes from an internal medicine and hospitalist background, not just a procedure-focused practice.

Want honest pricing. Published rates, not "investment levels" disclosed only after a sales-style consultation.

Have failed something else. A meaningful percentage of our Dallas patients have had prior PRP or cellular therapy at another clinic that didn't produce the result they expected. Often the workup wasn't done well or the protocol didn't match the indication.

What we treat for Dallas patients

The full clinical scope we offer:

Orthopedic conditions. Knee osteoarthritis, rotator cuff tendinopathy and partial tears, hip OA, avascular necrosis (AVN) of the femoral head, lumbar facet and disc-mediated pain, SI joint dysfunction, lateral and medial epicondylitis, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, patellar tendinopathy, post-surgical biologic augmentation in coordination with surgical teams.

Neurological and psychiatric. Subanesthetic IV ketamine therapy for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and refractory chronic pain.

Adjunctive modalities. Softwave shockwave, LED photobiomodulation, Class IV laser therapy.

For specifics on any condition, see the relevant guide:

Patient profiles common from Dallas

A few patterns we see commonly from Dallas-area patients:

The Park Cities or Preston Hollow professional with persistent knee pain. Often has access to top-tier Dallas orthopedic care and has already consulted with a knee surgeon. Considering whether to proceed with replacement now or buy time with cellular therapy. Our role is to honestly evaluate whether the time-buying option is realistic for their case.

The Plano or Frisco corporate executive with shoulder pain interfering with golf and work. Often referred by an executive physical clinician or sports medicine doc. Goal: clear diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, return to activity.

The North Dallas retiree with hip osteoarthritis evaluating non-surgical options. Comparing cellular therapy at our clinic to surgical consultation with a Dallas-area orthopedic group.

The Dallas-area patient with new AVN diagnosis from steroid use for an autoimmune condition. Time-sensitive workup; coordinated care with their rheumatologist and sometimes orthopedic surgeon for combined or sequential approach.

The Dallas tech professional with chronic axial back pain. Has often had multiple injections elsewhere without clear diagnostic confirmation of pain source. Comes to us for a clean workup that may include diagnostic facet or SI joint injection before considering more involved regenerative protocols.

The Lakewood entrepreneur with tennis elbow from years of gripping. Multiple prior cortisone shots, now interested in PRP as a more durable option.

The patient from anywhere in Dallas who's been told they need joint replacement and wants a credible second opinion. Brings imaging and surgical recommendations; we evaluate honestly and tell them when we agree with the surgical recommendation and when we think there's a real interim regenerative option.

How a typical visit works for Dallas patients

You book a consultation via our online form or by calling (972) 768-2328. Our intake team sends a brief health history form and asks you to upload any recent imaging.

On the visit day, you drive in to 2111 Kirkwood Blvd. Free parking right outside the building. Check-in at the front desk. The consultation runs 60 to 90 minutes and includes history, exam, imaging review with you in the room, and a written treatment plan.

For Dallas-area patients who want to combine the consultation with other errands or business in the Southlake/Westlake area, we can usually accommodate scheduling preferences.

If you proceed with treatment, the procedure is scheduled at a later visit, usually 2 to 4 weeks out. The procedure visit is typically 75 to 90 minutes total. Follow-up visits at 6 and 12 weeks can be in-person or telehealth depending on your preference.

How the Dallas market compares

A few honest observations about the broader DFW regenerative landscape:

The Dallas market has more clinics than the average metro. Some are excellent, some are mediocre, some are pure marketing operations. The questions in our evaluation guide sort them quickly.

Membership models are common in the Dallas market. Several clinics charge $5,000 to $25,000 per year for "wellness access." The math rarely favors the patient.

National franchise clinics have multiple Dallas locations. Quality varies enormously by which local physician is at the location you visit. The brand isn't the credential.

Cellular sourcing varies widely. Some Dallas-area clinics use BMAC, some use adipose, some use various allogeneic products. We've explained why we believe allogeneic umbilical-derived MSCs from FDA-registered processors are the best current option in our allogeneic vs autologous guide.

We don't recommend specific Dallas-area competitors by name. We do recommend that you evaluate any clinic you're considering using the questions in our evaluation guide.

Pricing

The same pricing applies regardless of where you live in the metroplex. Typical ranges:

  • New patient consultation: $300 to $450 flat fee
  • PRP, single joint (LP or LR): $1,200 to $1,500 (each additional same-visit joint $800)
  • Stem cell injection, single joint (MSC): $3,200 to $4,800
  • Stem cell + exosome combination: $3,500 to $5,500
  • Bilateral or multi-joint stem cell protocol: $10,000 to $12,000
  • Shockwave course (4 to 6 sessions): $1,200 to $2,800
  • Ketamine therapy, 6-infusion induction: $2,400 to $3,600

Insurance does not cover regenerative procedures. HSA/FSA funds usually can be applied. Financing through CareCredit and other partners available. Full breakdown in our coverage and financing guide.

A short note from Dr. Abdullah

A meaningful number of our patients come to us from Dallas proper, North Dallas, Plano, and the eastern suburbs. The drive is real but, in my conversations with these patients, they tell me it's worth it for the kind of careful, physician-led work that the Apex model is built around. If you're in the Dallas market and you've been considering regenerative care, the easiest first step is a consultation. We'll tell you whether we think we're the right clinic for your case and, if we're not, we'll often point you toward someone in your area who is.
