Does stem cell therapy actually work for knees?
For the right candidate, yes — the evidence is meaningful for pain and function, though the certainty of that evidence is still graded low-to-moderate and it is not a cure. A meta-analysis of 35 studies and over 2,300 patients found significant improvements in pain, function, and cartilage quality. It works best for early-to-moderate osteoarthritis (Kellgren-Lawrence grades I–III); bone-on-bone Grade IV joints respond less. We tell you honestly which category you're in at your consultation.

What kind of stem cells does Apex use?
Screened, allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), typically Wharton's-jelly-derived, plus MSC-derived exosomes. We deliberately do not offer bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) or adipose (fat-derived) harvests. Every injection is placed under ultrasound guidance — placement is most of the outcome.
Who performs the treatment?
Farhan Abdullah, DO — the founding physician — personally performs the image-guided regenerative injections (stem cell, exosome, PRP) and supervises every treatment in the clinic. IV ketamine is administered by our nurse practitioner under his on-site supervision. Your consultation is a clinical conversation about candidacy, not a sales appointment with a coordinator.
